5 ways for entrepreneurs to survive the crisis

The pandemic time is a test for everyone – regardless of their role in life. Both the boss, parent and employee should remember that, alongside decisions taken at the highest level and centrally controlled aid schemes, much depends on them. The attitude and decisions taken have a decisive impact on the survival and condition of the business in the future – that is why it is necessary to proceed in a planned and rational manner. Below are the five most important principles of how to proceed to survive during the crisis.

  1. Every day has meaning

For both human and company development, stagnation is the most dangerous. Therefore, we should not wait – in times of crisis we should react dynamically – to give priorities to actions, change schedules, talk to suppliers, negotiate deadlines, move advertising campaigns or limit selected activities.

  1. Talk to the Clients

Inform your recipients of all actions taken in response to the crisis. Show that you are not passive and you know how to run business also in difficult conditions. Tell us directly how the crisis affects the condition of the company and, consequently, on customers, products and services offered.

"To say that the world we have known so far will not come back, it is slowly becoming a Truism. However, we talk little about how to shake off and what to do to survive, and that will be in deciding how quickly business will learn to understand the business and social partners of the past. Old tracks and lost patterns lead nowhere, now it counts the time of reaction and shortness of ranks in the organization"said Michał Szapiro, President of SZAPIRO PR.

  1. PROVISIONS FOR INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Workers are not responsible for the crisis, but they are largely responsible for the success of business. Don't leave them alone in difficult times. Communicate clearly and transparently, including potential problems. Understatements give rise to rumors that negatively affect work and its atmosphere.

  1. INTEGRATE WITH LOCAL SOCIETY

Regardless of the business scale, remember your immediate surroundings. Bet on local suppliers and community needs. If you can, help and support – such actions are effective both now and in the future.

"Highly specialised companies and those operating in regulated markets will also have to find themselves again in reality. Supply chains break before our eyes, and this means that often arranged over the last five, ten or even fifteen years business relationships will remain only a dream. A quick reaction and not losing breath will help," said Sylwia Kuligowska, Owner of SCOPE Public Relations.

  1. ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH

The pandemic time favors propaganda and publishing false information. The media verifies information, but social platforms often convey sensations and half-truths. Be careful of false information – focus on facts; eliminate messages and sources of information that heat the atmosphere, encouraging irrational behavior, strongly opinionating. Verify the experts.
