56. Anniversary of the creation of the 12th Volinian trawler squadron [FOTO]

Performing the tasks of mine defence – trampling, searching, detecting and destroying minesteads and the mine defence of ship teams at the crossing of the sea are among the many tasks that have been implemented for 56 years by the forces of the 12th Trailers Division. On Tuesday, June 1, the squadron celebrates its 56th anniversary. On the occasion of the celebration of the unit on the squadron ships, a large flag gala was erected.
The 12th Volinski Trolley Squadron is a tactical division of the 8th Coast Defense Fleet. It has in its composition ships designed to perform mine tasks and mine defence. In addition to the twelve trawlers of the 207P project, the squadron also includes auxiliary vessels to secure the swimming of Flotilla units, provide port services and secure the training of ships at sea, as well as the Miner Divers Group, which is tasked, among others, with the purification of marine and inland waters from explosive and hazardous objects.
„12. The Woliński Trałowcy Squadron has written on the history pages rich tradition, heroic attitudes and daily serenity of several generations of sailors. Love for the sea and professionalism of squadron soldiers are seen in daily service. Today's anniversary comes at a special time for us. The epidemic crisis has shown the importance of the Armed Forces in the state security system. The readiness of soldiers to bring real help to the local community fits into the ethos of the service of the Polish Soldier. The professionalism and skills of the squadron's soldiers have contributed to the achievement of the honorary title of the Navy's "Front Division of the Navy" by the Diving Miners Group.
I congratulate you for your high performance during your exercises and tasks at sea, as well as your daily duties. Thank you all for your honest service and work requiring many sacrifices, self-sacrifice and personal sacrifices." – with these words he thanked all the sailors commander of the 12th Trolley Squadron Commander Robert Lisowski.
12. The base trawler division was formed on June 1, 1965, under orders of the 8th Coast Defence Fleet commander. The process of forming the squadron continued until September 5, 1969, when the unit included the fourth, last group of project 254 ships. During its existence, the squadron survived many organizational changes. In September 1988, the division included a group of Miner fins. On March 1, 1994, by order of the Naval Commander, the name of the unit was changed to 12. Trałów division, and on June 1, 1996 by decision of the Minister of National Defence, the squadron adopted the distinctive name "Woliński".
In his history, the squadron took part in all major national and international exercises. He has performed many combat and special tasks. Ships conducted combat, border and rescue missions and participated in actions to save life at sea, as well as in the protection of the Polish Maritime Fisheries Zone. The squadron ships represented the Polish flag in countless foreign ports.
