On December 16, we celebrate the 68th anniversary of the death of MW officers of the Republic of Poland murdered by security personnel and the third anniversary of the September 1939 Coast Guards' heroic funeral. After 65 years of death and years of oblivion, Navy officers experienced a worthy burial at the MW Cemetery in Gdynia Oxyvia.

On the third anniversary of the September 1939 heroic funeral of Coast Defenders at the MW Cemetery in Gdynia Oxywiu, a celebration commemorating this event was held in the ass of the honorary MW. At the Memorial Quarter, representatives of the Navy laid flowers and lit symbolic candles.

State funeral ceremonies of the late Rear Admiral Stanisław Mieszkowski, late Rear Admiral Jerzy Staniewicz and late Commander Zbigniew Przybyszewski – victims of the communist crime – were held in the honorary ace of the Navy on 15 and 16 December 2017. They were attended by the President of Poland and representatives of state authorities.

Counter Admiral Stanislaw Mieszkowski, Rear Admiral Jerzy Staniewicz and Commander Zbigniew Przybyszewski – officers of the pre-war Navy, heroes of the defence of the Polish coast from 1939, serving in the Navy also after World War II, in December 1952 – were executed on the basis of the judgment of the military court, after a fake trial and fictional accusation of participation in a conspiracy against the Polish state. To restore their memory, full rehabilitation and worthy celebration of the heroism of the subordinates and comrades of the weapon, the will of the will of the will of the will of the will of the military admiral of the fleet, Józef Unrug, commander of the Polish Fleet and Defence of the Coast from 1939.

While on emigration in France, before his death he warned that it would only be possible to bring his remains to Poland: "If previously or at the same time, they would be similarly honored and rehabilitated – having the right to remember the Nation – colleagues, officers of the Polish Navy, innocently executed or died in prison." Among them he mentioned, among others, Rear Admirals S. Mieszkowski and J. Staniewicz and Commander Z. Przybyszewski. In order to restore the good name of the Polish Navy, the admiral also demanded "a precise, clear and public finding of guilt and punishing the guilty" of the crimes committed on them. It was only possible to meet the main conditions in 2013 – after the team had found the remains of the said officers in the "Ł" quarters, on the so-called Link, in Warsaw Powązki and their subsequent identification. In compliance with the obligation to take care of the dignity of the dead sailors, which is primarily the responsibility of the modern Navy of Poland, representatives of the Families of murdered officers and several state institutions established in 2016 an Organization Committee aimed at fulfilling the will of the late Admiral of the fleet of Józef Unrug.

Thanks to the Committee's involvement, at the Naval Cemetery in Gdynia Oksyw, a Memorial Accommodation was created, where the remains of Admiral J. Unrug, as well as Rear Admiral S. Mieszkowski, Rear Admiral J. Staniewicz and Commander Z. Przybyszewski (on the 65th anniversary of the judicial murder on them) and other officers, officers and sailors whose heroism and dedication cannot be forgotten.
