Construction of PGE Baltic's base in Ustka entered another phase

Work on the construction of PGE Baltica operating and service base in Ustka follows the schedule. The most difficult and time-consuming preparatory activities are coming to an end, and next to the reconstructed wharf, the first elements of future port facilities are increasingly visible. The investment for PGE Group is carried out by the DORACO Construction Corporation.

Progress on PGE Baltic's operating and service base

Every week, it is more and more clear how modern infrastructure for offshore elevators is developing in the former fish factory. The Ustecka base will be the first such object in the PGE Group. Acting continuously and overseeing the smooth operation of turbines in the Baltic, it will be the heart of the entire offshore wind farm system. The first offshore power plant operated from Ustka will be Baltica 2 joint project PGE and Ørsted. The planned commissioning of modern port facilities is the fourth quarter of 2026.

The operation of the Ustka operating and service base is a prospect of transforming this port into a dynamic, modern centre focused on support services for offshore wind power. And local business not only from Ustka, but also from the whole Pomerania, can only benefit from this by offering the services necessary for the daily operation of the base. Our project is a very good example of the involvement of Polish industry and Polish companies. From the beginning, this investment was entrusted exclusively to Polish entities.

At the construction site in the Ustek port, the general contractor completed demolition works of the old wharf. The first foundation elements of the new structure have already appeared at the site of the infrastructure. The DORACO Building Corporation continues to work on earth and further technological work within the emerging wharf.

We are pleased to make this strategic investment for the whole coast in the mouth. We are pleased that at every stage of the project we can cooperate with local companies and use local services, because this means real support for the local economy. Today we use our knowledge and experience so that soon Usta can become one of the key locations on the map of the Polish offshore sector on the Baltic Sea.

Investment in Ustka enters the phase of construction of port facilities

On land, the stage is coming to an end Geotechnical worksch, consisting of strengthening the substrate, inter alia by making the foundation piles. A tower crane appeared on the construction site, which supports further activities. The foundation works are being poured out with primer concrete and laid reinforcements. New steel supplies regularly reach the site. In September, the first construction concrete is planned to be poured into new buildings first under the warehouse section, then under the social-office section.

Work is also ongoing on sanitary networks and rainwater. Soon there will be works related to electrical installations and power systems. The plans also include specialised work on the wharf construction using micropals. At the same time, intensive design work is being carried out, which allows for smooth transitions to subsequent stages of construction.

The operating and service base is created on an area of more than 2.3 ha. It will consist of an administrative and social building, a warehouse building, a manoeuvring area and a waterfront, where special fast service ships will moor (CTV crew transfer messages) to transport crews and spare parts to wind farms in the Baltic.

In addition to the future operational and service function of the ustek base, it will provide the facilities during the construction of the Baltica 2 farm at sea. Teams of workers supporting the construction process will come out of Uska.
