It will be possible to invest at the northern wharf in Gdynia

The War Shipyard announced the possibility for external operators to develop parts of its area at Śmidowicza Street with direct access to basin IX in the maritime area of the port of Gdynia. It is an important part of the plan implemented by the PGZ group to modernise the fallen Naval Shipyard, while at the same time an attractive opportunity for investors looking for sites with direct access to the sea.
On the Shipyard website, you can find an announcement in which the Management Board informs that in the course of its optimization and efficiency improvement processes the Shipyard intends to divest or lease part of the so-called eastern areas within the Shipyard, which include office buildings, warehouses and production facilities and roads and energy infrastructure. Depending on the concept presented by the bidder, adjacent land may be developed as well as water parcels may be landed.
The total amount of land offered is less than 7 ha, where production, port, can be organised, but also the lease of office space.
In a comment to the announcement, Konrad Konefał, Chairman of the Board of War Shipyard stresses that making the site available to external entities is related to the process of compacting production areas and investment plan since the acquisition of the Shipyard from Syndyk.
Successfully for two years, we have been leaving further production and warehouse buildings in the areas most remote from the construction and repair sites and relocating the individual functions closer to them to eliminate the loss of production time on the movement of workers and material. By moving individual production departments, we modernize their target workshop places, such as the current preparation of the electrical workshop. Our plans are to build a new production hall for mechanical, tubular and locksmithy departments. To this end, we want to obtain investment from making available to external entities this part of our assets which is not necessary for our business.
The President adds that even after the planned reduction in the area of activity and the investments made by this The shipyard will be ready to implement key naval modernisation programmes.
The analyses carried out by our design and technology office clearly show that in a smaller area we could get up to 7 times more production power than currently used, which is probably well above market demand. Given the available location, we can build up to three frigate-class ships at various stages. It is certain that in a smaller area of production capacity we will not run out of these material ones. Another issue is human resources, but this is a separate issue.
The yard has in no way narrowed the circle of entities and activities that could find their place in its territory. Offers may be submitted for both part and all of the land and buildings offered. Nor is there a preferred mode of covering these properties by the tenderer, sales and leases were allowed.
