Maritime security – effective strategies and actions

Maritime security This is one of the most important issues of our time. In the face of increasing threats both in the Black Sea and in the Baltic Sea region, security conferences play a key role in developing effective strategies and actions.

The Commander of the Centre for Maritime Operations – Commander of the Marine Component, took part in prestigious international conferences that aimed to discuss these issues.

Bucharest conference: Security in the Black Sea and Balkans region

The first of these events took place in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, on 19 May. Deputy Admiral Krzysztof Jaworski, COM Commander, DKM, had the honour to participate in a co-organised forum organised by the Romanian Ministry of Defence and Foreign Affairs, which focused on security issues in the Black Sea and the Balkans region.

During the conference, a discussion panel was held, which focused on maritime security in the context of war activities in Ukraine. It was an excellent opportunity to exchange experience and deepen cooperation between countries in the region. The Commander of the Centre for Maritime Operations had the opportunity to share Polish experience and present the perspective of the Polish Navy.

Copenhagen conference: Security of critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea

The second event took place in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, on 26 May. The Danish Centre for Military Studies in cooperation with the President of the Danish Defence Committee of Parliament organised a conference on critical infrastructure security issues in the Baltic Sea.

During this conference, the Commander of the Centre for Maritime Operations had the opportunity to meet with the Commander and Deputy Commander of the Danish Navy and Ambassador of the Republic of Poland. This meeting allowed discussion of maritime safety cooperation and stressed the importance of efforts to ensure stability and security in the Baltic Sea.

The participation of the Commander of the Centre for Maritime Operations in these prestigious conferences clearly confirms the involvement of the Polish Navy in the development of effective strategies and actions to maintain stability and security in the Black Sea and Baltic Sea.

Maritime safety is of great importance to our region and to the whole world. International cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience are key elements in creating effective solutions. The participation of the Commander of the Centre for Maritime Operations in these conferences contributed to building partnerships between countries and exchange of best practices in the field of maritime safety.
