Construction of T5 terminal accelerates after winter – intensive work on construction site

At the T5 terminal construction site in Gdańsk Baltic Hub There's full mobilization. Intensive reinforced concrete and road work continues, embankments under the construction of the terminal. After the winter weather period, the construction of the T5 terminal accelerates again.

Progress on T5 Terminal construction at the end of 2025

In late 2025, work on the construction of the T5 terminal reached a high level of progress. In November, a key stage of the project was completed, which allowed to achieve the second milestone provided for in the contract schedule.

The reinforced concrete works on the outbound quays (baseboards and semitrailers) and inbound (trailers) were intensively conducted. At the same time, the combustible work was carried out in CFA technology, conducted in 24h mode with the participation of three burners.

Ground reinforcements in RIC technology were also continued, consisting in compacting and strengthening the ground using a hydraulic hammer. At the same time, overburdens were built to consolidate weak land for the future terminal construction.

At the same time, the team prepared installations and verified the road surface design on a specially prepared test field.

Currently, after a difficult period caused by low temperatures and intense snowfall, work was resumed simultaneously on all fronts (outbound, inbound and temporal) in the field of reinforced concrete works. Additional work teams were mobilised, diversifying work on trailers and reinforced concrete plates. The technology for removing layers of frost was also used, which allowed for the continuation of ground reinforcements in HEIC technologies (high impact energy), RIC, gravel columns and the construction of further overloading embankments.

Winter caused the slowdown and stopped some of the fronts of the works, but at the turn of February and March 2026 NDI teams and subcontractors mobilized forces, strengthening the pace of work to ensure the continuity of the project.

Thanks to the fact that we used every opportunity to catch up with the works, despite the very unfavourable temperatures, we were able to prepare the front for the armory robots that we can carry out at this point. We are able to mobilise additional working teams, both machines and people, and thus we can carry out work in several places simultaneously.

Next stages of the construction of the T5 terminal

There are embankments under the terminal construction, while new fronts are opened for road works. Major installation work has also been started in the electrical and sanitary and rainwater sectors.

In the near future we will have to complete road works, complete reinforced concrete works and speed up construction work for the target surface.

adds Luke Jagalski

At the same time, the installation and installation of hydrotechnical equipment will be carried out to maintain the smoothness of the schedule and ensure efficient progress in the construction of the terminal.

Such a wide range of parallel works shows not only the progress of investments, but also the good organisation of subcontracting teams. Terminal T5 in Gdańsk Baltic Hub it is consistently approaching the completion of the next stages of implementation. The construction is carried out on behalf of Istrana and co-financed by European funds under the KPO programme and by the Polish Development Fund. The general contractor is the NDI Group.
