China and Taiwan: is the blockade in 90 days real? Between narration and reality

At first glance, it all fits. More Chinese aircraft, more ships, increasing pressure around Taiwan. In addition, there is a 90-day scenario circulating in the network, which puts these facts into a simple story about the inevitable end.

The problem is that this simplicity is his greatest weakness.
Power demonstration is not a blockade yet
Interestingly, many elements of this puzzle actually have its source in Beijing's real activities. Infringements of the air identification zone, presence of ships, activity of paramilitary units – this is all happening really.
In practice, however, this means something other than preparing for immediate surgery. It's a long-term pressure building and response testing.
The difference is in scale. Several dozen planes and several ships are a demonstration. The blockade is already an operation on the border of war – requiring constant presence of large forces, air control and full logistics facilities.
‘2000 ships’ and the locking myth
Despite the media noise around "thousand individuals", it is worth separating facts from narrative. China has a huge civilian and fishing fleet and can use it in operations in the gray area.
Except it's still not a blockade.
It's pressure – obstruction of navigation, thickening of traffic, playing at the border of the law. The classic blockade, regardless of the means used, is an act of war. And that changes everything.
Blockage instead of invasion? That makes sense.
From a strategic perspective, the concept of blocking is not detached from reality. On the contrary, this is one of the more logical scenarios.
The key element would be not to occupy the island, but to cut it off. Energy, raw materials, exports – all of this can be reduced without direct force.
That's where we get to the point.
TSMC – the real goal of this game
Taiwan is not just a territory. It's the center of global semiconductor production.
In practice, this means one thing: every attempt to block immediately hits the global economy. From electronics to the arms industry.
This is no longer a regional conflict. It's a systemic shock.
The U.S. doesn't disappear from the equation
The entire 90-day scenario is based on one assumption: that the United States will not react quickly enough.
Except reality looks different. Indo-Pacific is today a key direction of American strategy, and the presence of the US Navy in the region is constant.
Although the reaction may not be immediate, it is difficult to imagine it remaining passive.
Middle East and "Possibility Window"
From a geopolitical perspective, however, there is another theme. Today in the Middle East, two US Navy airfield groups are operating and the third is on their way.
In practice, this means dispersal of forces and a certain — although probably temporary — gap in Indo-Pacific waters.
And here's the question: Beijing He doesn't see a potential window of opportunity in it? Not to invade, but to increase the pressure when the opponent's reaction may be slower.
10 years of threatening the war – and then what?
Interestingly, the narrative of the "inevitable attack of China" has been operating for over a decade. Meanwhile, Beijing consistently builds an advantage, but avoids open conflict.
The difference is that unlike the United States, China did not carry out any military action at the time, unlike the democratic state it claims to be.
That doesn't mean there's no risk. But it means that Beijing's actions are coldly calculated – politically, economically and militarily.
Where the game really goes
The narrative of "bloodless blockade" sounds attractive. In practice, however, it would mean an immediate escalation of global consequences.
Because every attempt to cut off Taiwan hits not only the region, but the foundations of the world economy. Therefore, the key question is not whether Taiwan "falls in 90 days".
Something else is far more important:
How far China can go without causing a full-scale conflict.
Because that's where the most important thing is today in this gray zone between peace and war. part of this game.
