Baptism and launching of another mine destroyer for the Polish Navy

On 19 March, at Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. Shipbuilding S.A. in Gdańsk took place a christening and launching of the fifth of a series of mine destroyer of project 258, the future ORPFisheries(605). This unit will strengthen the mine potential of the Polish Navy in the future, forming part of the Świnouska 12. Trooper Squadron.
The ceremony had a solemn, traditional character, and the presence of numerous representatives of the military, administration and ship industry emphasized its importance not only to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, but also to the entire industry. Following the sacrifice of the hull, the godmother, Maria Terifter, wife of the former commander of the 8th Coast Defence Fleet, Rear Admiral Krzysztof Terifter (in command of 2009–2014), said symbolic words: "Swipe the seas and oceans of the world, fame the name of a Polish shipbuilder and a Polish sailor", giving the ship a nameFisheries. The boat was then launched, which will now pass the retrofit phase, completed by sea trials.

ORPFisheriesis another vessel of project 258, adapted to carry out comprehensive antimine activities in coastal and marine waters. The unit will be equipped with a dynamic positioning system, OSU-35K weaponry – a modern, remote-controlled direct defense artillery system, equipped with an automatic Kal. 35 mm cannon and an optoelectronic fire control system that allows to combat various types of threats with high precision – both day and night, in all weather conditions – and a set of unmanned vehicles that allow neutralising underwater threats from a safe distance. These capabilities will enable a wide range of tasks – from patrolling water tracks and protecting critical infrastructure to detecting, classifying and destroying marine mines.
Completion of future ORPFisheriesand his incarnation in service is scheduled for 2026. Parallel to the Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Shipbuilding Ships and Radio-electronic Recognition Program "Delfin" Ships are under construction for MW of Poland.
