Sheet cutting at CRIST shipyard

18.11.2022 CRIST shipyard held the cutting ceremony of the sheets of a new single hull ship design for ULSTEIN VERFT shipowner with the working number NB318. The unit is to serve wind farms. The cooperation between CRIST and the shipowner started in 2013 with the NB 301 project, in which the yard carried out 14 projects, now works on projects 15 and 16.

The built unit will be able to meet the general requirements of the offshore wind industry, such as transportation of personnel, cargo, oil fuel, water in tanks, spare parts and other general loads under and on open decks. The ship will have 91 cabins, a maximum capacity of 126 people.

The ship will be electrically powered, battery assisted. Hybrid battery drive and methanol fuel will allow zero emissions. The cargo system will ensure safety and will enable efficientCargo CommonCargo ship. The hull shape will provide excellent performance in terms of fuel consumption, maneuverability, speed, stability, capacity and energy use. It is based on the ULSTEIN TWIN X-STERN technology, it is a structural feature that includes sharper hull lines and eliminates the bladder plate, will increase functionality thanks to a positive effect on the maintenance of the ship's position, wave response, comfort and safety in difficult conditions by reducing the force of impact of waves, deck humidity and splash.

The unit will be optimised for efficient and efficient operation of technicians and cargo shipment on board to minimise manual transfer of cargo, tools and spare parts. The unit will have a total length of 89.6 m and a width of 19.2 m.

ULSTEIN VERFT is our regular client. Cooperation with it is very fruitful, as can be seen from the number of projects implemented. ULSTEIN has a patent on the unspeakable shape of the bow and stern, with which we are already well acquainted. We've been working according to their standards for years. Construction of hulls is carried out on an ongoing basis during the creation and weekly flow of documentation. We have developed mutual trust that allows us to prefabricate more units.
