Costa presents its new Costa Smeralda ship in Warsaw

The presentation of Costa's first flagship ship, Costa Smeralda powered by natural gas, was the theme of Costa's conference in Warsaw.

The conference was attended by guests from all over the country and the management of Costa - Alessandro Bottaro Mediterranean New Markets, UK, East Europe, Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director and Ekaterina Ilyushina Business Development Manager in Russia & Poland.

The theme of the conference was the new generation of Costa Smeralda flagship, which will be the first Costa vessel powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the world's cleanest fossil fuel.

The introduction of Costa Smeralda to the fleet will represent an ecological breakthrough and a step towards improving air quality, by almost total prevention of emissions of dust and sulphur oxides at sea and in port.

Costa Smeralda will run in the western Mediterranean until April 2021, during weekly voyageShe will visit Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia and La Spezia.

Costa Smeralda has 2612 cabins, including 1656 cabins with balcony and 106 cabins with winter garden. Smeralda can accommodate 6518 passengers on board who can sit in 11 restaurants 19 bars and take a bath in 4 pools.

The cabins were designed by Dordoni Architetti of Milan and decorated with colors and geometric patterns related to Italian cities. Each of the decks and public spaces has a name dedicated to the famous places and squares in Italy: from Palermo (Table 4) to Trieste (Table 20).

Costa Smeralda will have sixteen restaurants and catering facilities including Teppanyaki, Pummid’Oro Pizzeria, a family restaurant Tutti a tavola, which also offers many additional entertainments and Laboratorio del Gusto (flavour lab), where guests can enjoy dinner preparation.

The guests are waiting for nineteen bars where you can relax and have a drink, such as Ferrari Spumante Spazio Bollicine, Aperol Spritz Bar on the outside decks, the elegant Campari Bar or "The Nutella Café".

Another attraction on board is the Spa with a beauty salon, Turkish bath, a pool for thalassotherapy and sixteen treatment rooms and relaxation rooms with snow or salt. The gym will present the most innovative "Technogym" devices.

Fun for all age groups will continue in a water park with slides or in a multisport field, on four pools, in theatre, discotheques, casino, jazz bar piano and game room. Children will enjoy fully on the specially designed space for them.

The trip is 337 m long, 42 m wide and 80.45 m high.

Since 2000, Costa has been part of Carnival Corporation & plc, the world's largest cruise ship operator.

The conference was led by Ekaterina Ilyushina. It presented a number of interesting points that Costa has on board its passenger ships and presented the carrier's approach to environmental protection.

Costa is an Italian cruise company based in Genoa, where it employs about 30,000 workers on land as well as on board ships. All ships are flying the Italian flag.

The Costa fleet consists of 27 ships, 6 of which are new units.

That's the motto behind Costa.

"We are very committed to protecting the environment and charitable aid," said Ekaterina Ilyushina.

As part of her activities, Costa distributed 21784 meals to the most deprived and organised 28032 hours of education for young people. The company was also involved in helping 868 women who were victims of violence.

The slogan "Planet is in our hands" accompanied the project of cleaning 316380 m2 beaches and seabed.
