Exercising Ship Task Force 8. FOW [FOTO]

The ship's Task Force consisting of the ORP Gardno and ORP Wdzydze trawlers, the Z-8 tanker, the 851 Transport Kutra and the H-11 Bolko tow truck completed its tasks in the Gulf of Pomerania and returned to War Ports in Świnoujście and Gdynia. Ship forces were supported by the Group of Miner Divers from the 12th trawlers division (8.FOW).
Ships on Tuesday, November 16 went to the waters of the Gulf of Pomerania, where they carried out their first tasks. Crews were training to shield the communication routes. Ship cannon fire was conducted for both air and water purposes. There were also tasks related to the opposing defence of ships. The transport boat conducted an approach training to the unprepared shore.
In the following days, the trawlers conducted an exploratory search for mines. The tasks of trawling and carrying out other units after the lost water track were performed. It's about precision. Units must follow the line drawn above the seabed so as not to go beyond the cleared area by the trawlers. In fact, a ship would correct its course on the basis of indications from a trawler that would compare the position of the unit with the limits of the lost water.
Units performed all possible tasks to which the Ship Task Force was created. Both those characteristic of the ship type and the team type, where all, regardless of their destiny, worked together.
The maneuvers were intended to assemble forces separated into the crew of the Task Force Ship. Such exercises include improving the training of the 8th Coast Defence Fleet forces in actions to safeguard the interests of the state at sea. Today, the safety of maritime transport routes depends on the stable, unthreatening development of the maritime economy. The largest tonnage of international trade goods is transported by sea. The training was led by the Chief of Staff of the 12th Trooper Squadron, Lieutenant Sławomir Góra.
