Four AW101 helicopters for the Navy. Agreement signed

On 26 April, at the premises of PZL-Świdnik S.A. plant, national defence minister Mariusz Błaszczak signed a contract for the delivery of four AW101 helicopters for the Navy. The contract, worth PLN 1.65 billion (EUR 380 million), also includes an integrated logistics and training package, and its main contractor will be PZL-Świdnik S.A. Helicopters will be armed, although details of this part of the contract remain classified.
For the first time, the Polish Aviation Brigade will receive a new factory of Western equipment, and the best in its class – it has been managed by the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister Michał Dworczyk, Director-General Leonardo Alessandro Profumo, Head of the Armed Forces Inspector-General Leonardo Helicopters Gian Piero Cutillo, Prezes PZL-Świdnik S.A. Beata Stelmach, and Deputy General Commander-General of the Directorate-General of the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation, Dr Darius Piero Cutillo, prezes PZL-Świdnik S.A.
The helicopters will be assembled in Leonardo’s Yeovil plant in the UK, where the last assembly line is located. So far, customers worldwide have ordered over 220 AW101 different versions. The WSK PZL Świdnik S.A. participates in the AW101 project as a supplier of warp structures, including power and gear assemblies, ceiling board, part of the pilot cabin, nasal pendulum, nasal pendulum, ranges of aviaries, timing board, central and lateral consoles, rear part of the hull and (optional) ramp.
Ordered helicopters will be delivered by the end of 2022. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The main beneficiaries will be Military Aviation Plants No. 1 S.A. (where the Licensed Center for the Operation of Helicopters will be created) and the Centre for Maritime Military Technologies of Gdańsk University of Technology. For the offset of PLN 395,882,751 there are nine contracts. In the telegraphic summary, the Polish side will acquire independence in the service and operation of AW101.
Circumstances of the premier Morawiecki, the Minister of Błaszczak and the Director of Profumo. During the meeting with media directors The Profumo and Cutillo have already been involved in Leonardo’s activities in Poland, including the most important modernist projects of the Polish Army, i.e. outside the principality of the AW101s, including the towers for Rosomak transportés and the pilots of the training of M346 Bielik.
