Denmark will increase gas production to become independent of Russia

On Tuesday, the Danish Government announced an increase in natural gas extraction in order to become independent of imports from Russia. By 2030, however, the Danish authorities want to abandon this energy source completely.

In the reform plan presented, "Denmark may be more than II" indicated that natural gas will gradually replace other raw materials in the coming years, including biogas, whose production is expected to increase. By the end of the year, 400,000 natural gas-fired farms are to be informed of the possibility of connecting to the heating network. Where this is not possible, the state budget is also intended to help with alternative solutions such as heat pumps.

We are convinced that it is better to use deposits in the North Sea than to buy gas from Putin.

The Danish Government has also announced that it will increase renewable energy production by building wind islands at sea and will also help countries dependent on Russian raw materials to switch to green technologies.

At the same time, the Danish authorities reiterated the 2020 decision to stop natural gas extraction in the North Sea for climate reasons by 2050.
