DFDS announces changes in operation ferryed

Ferries along the route from Newcastle to Amsterdam will continue to run for those travelling with a vehicle reservation or as pedestrian passengers, and bookings will remain available. The number of passengers will be reduced to 50% on DFDS cruises from Dover to Calais and Dunkirk and from Newhaven to Dieppe.

Mini bookings voyagewill be automatically cancelled with immediate effect by 6 April and the voyage voucher will be granted for future use. Cruises along the route from Newcastle to Amsterdam remain unchanged for pedestrian passengers and people travelling with cars, and new bookings are still accepted.

A separate decision was also made to reduce passenger capacity by 50% on all ships on the Western Canal and Eastern Canal routes with immediate effect until 6 April. Number voyageit will not be reduced, the schedules will remain the same.

All aboard. ferryThe DFDS took action to prevent the spread of Coronavirus / COVID-19:

• Disposable dispensers have been installed on board so passengers can use them.
• Unbroken, extra point of contact cleaning.
• On ships operating on the Newcastle-Amsterdam, King Seaways and Princess Seaways route, buffet meals will now be served to passengers by staff and no more than 100 people will be allowed in one room at a time.
• The crew of the vessel shall be subject to strict hygiene regulations and requirements.
• If necessary, ferries are equipped with a supply of masks to limit the spread of infection.

The DFDS followed every recommendation from the World Health Organisation to minimise the spread of Coronavirus/ COVID-19 and to protect the health of travellers.
