"Copernik" baptized in China. New Chipolbroku diminutive vessel closer to entry into service

On 28 April a ceremony was held at Taizhou shipyard Kouan Shipbuilding in China to name the latest unit of the Chinese-Polish Ship Society Chipolbrok. Ship Fennel to join the shipowner's fleet soon.

The name of the unit refers to the Polish scientific heritage and fits into the tradition of the shipowner, who has connected Polish and Chinese threads in his maritime activities.
Classification supervision of construction is conducted by the Polish Register of Ships SA. During the PRS ceremony they were represented, among others, by the President of the Management Board Grzegorz Pettke, advisor to the Management Board of Leszek Pokora, director of the PRS facility in Shanghai Chong Wang, Karol Pokora, Wojsław Babiński and Inspector Wenrong Lu.
Fast construction rate in Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding
Caper was launched in late January this year. Launching took only two months after the position of the keel, as the PRS indicated as a result of the experience of the yard and good cooperation of the classifier with the technical services of the shipowner.
The naming ceremony means that the project entered its final phase before the ship was put into service. According to the information provided, the unit is expected to join the fleet on May 6.
Fourth ship from the new Chipolbrok series
The ship is the fourth ship in the series of multi-Purpose Heavy Lift Vessel. The unit has a load capacity of 62 thousand tons, about 199 m long and about 32 m wide.
Upon entry into service, it will join ships Yu An, Boy and De Anwhich have already been handed over to the shipowner. The new series will strengthen transport capacity Chipolbroku in the general, heavy and oversized cargo segment.
