On 9 November in Świnoujście, the gas tanker Al docked well known in the Polish portKharaitiyatwith the supply of gas purchased under a long-term contract between PGNiG and Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited.

Al KharaitiyatThis is Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd, a representative of the already described Q-flex family from South Korean shipyards. This ship was built in 2009 by Hyundai Heavy Industries and flies the flag of the Marshall Islands with its home port in Majuro. The present visit is for him the fourth stay in Poland. He previously rolled to Świnoujście on 4 July and 2 November 2018 and on 15 June 2019. As in previous deliveries, the gas tanker brought about 200,000 m to Poland3LNG equivalent to 90 000 tonnes LNG and 120 million m3gas after regasification.

This unit is 315 m long, 50 m wide. and dive 12.5 m. Its load capacity is 107 153 DWT, gross capacity 136 168 units, net capacity 40851 units, load-free displacement 42 188 tonnes. Ship may carry up to 211,986 m3LNG.Al KharaitiyatIt is driven by a gym consisting of 2 diesel engines MAN Burmeister & Wein 6S70ME-C with a total power of 37 320 kW (50 740 hp), driving two screws and providing a speed of 19,5 knots.

The current delivery is the 29th LNG transport this year, 142th in terminal history and 88th coming from the Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited.

In the current gas crisis, it is worth recalling that the current technical capacity of the LNG terminal of 5 billion m3gas annually allows to satisfy about 1/3 of the needs of the Polish economy. The expansion currently being carried out to increase capacity to 7.5 billion m3allow to meet the needs of gas Poland in the middle. This example shows how much our country uses the sea and access to global commodity markets.
