Egypt: President Sisi ordered preparations for unloading the container ship

Egypt's President Abd el-Fatah es-Sisi ordered preparations to unload the cargo from a giant container ship that has been blocking the Suez Canal since Tuesday – reported on Sunday on Egyptian television Extra News president of the canal authorities, Gen. defends Osama Rabie.
The head of the Suez Canal Management Board (SCA) said that President Sisi ordered the channel authorities to prepare for all options, including removing containers from the ship. He added that Egyptian officials are talking about this possibility from the U.S., but did not reveal any details," the AP agency said.
The container Ever Given has been blocking the canal since Tuesday, and rescue teams are counting on them to pull it off the shallows with dredging machines and tugboats without unloading the cargo.
Meanwhile, container ship owner, Japanese company Shoei Kisen, reported that he was considering removing containers if other attempts to relocate the ship failed.
The SCA announced on Sunday that the towing and dredging operations would continue depending on wind conditions and tide. The dredging machines working to remove the ship from the shallow have so far extracted 27 thousand cubic metres of sand around the ship in order to reach a depth of 18 metres – given in the statement.
