Evacuation from the Baltic Unit

On 1 October at 6.02 a.m. SAR duty crew from the 44th Naval Air Base from Darlov was placed on emergency alert: "medical evacuation".

One of Sylur's crewmen, located 35 nautical miles north of Usta, needed medical assistance and evacuations to land. The crew of the search and rescue helicopter W-3WARM Anakonda, commanded by the Captain-in-Chief Dominic Warda, reached readiness for action ten minutes later and took off at 6.20 in the direction of the ship. Over the unit, the helicopter hung, and the victim was taken on board.

At 7.28, Anakonda landed on a landing ground in Koszalin, where the victim was handed over to the waiting medical services. At 7.44 p.m., the crew returned to the Darłów Home Airport.

It was a 687 search and rescue action in BLMW history. 365 people were helped at the time. The Naval Aviation Brigade is the only aviation formation in Poland that keeps constant readiness to carry out rescue operations from the air over the sea. All-day SAR/ASAR duty, within the Polish responsibilities zone of the "Convention on the Search and Rescue of the Sea" and "Convention on International Civil Aviation", is performed by W-3WARM helicopter crew in 43. Base of Maritime Aviation in Gdynia-Baby Dołach and helicopters Mi-14PŁ/R or W-3WARM in 44 Naval Aviation Base in Darłów. At all times, the rescue system supports the M28B 1R Bryza patrol aircraft crew, on 24-hour duty at the airport in Siemirowice near Lęborka.
