Tour season 2026 in Port Gdańsk started. The first was Hamburg

Port Gdańsk began the 2026 cruise season. On 1 May, a cruiser entered the Ziółkowski Coast Hamburg, opening a series of 66 wraps scheduled until mid-December.

Cruise ship Hamburg opened tour season in Gdańsk

Mayday in Port of Gdansk brought the beginning of this year's cruise season. The first unit to go to Gdańsk was Hamburg. This is the symbolic beginning of a few months of the presence of white passenger body units at the port entrance, well visible from New Port.

This year's calendar looks ambitious. A total of 66 cruise ships are to be wrapped in Gdańsk while the season will continue until mid-December. This means that the port will remain present on the Baltic maritime tourism map not only during the holiday months.

From intimate units to real giants

Among the announced ships will include both large cruisers and Viking Vela, measuring nearly 240 m long as well as smaller units of a more classical character. Special place in this year's schedule Nordstjernen, a 70-year-old marine veteran who entered Gdańsk on 4 May.

Some units will return to Gdansk multiple times. I want the record holder Cliowho will visit the port as many as eight times. On 8 August, three cruises will arrive at the waterfront, which should be one of the most spectacular moments of the season in Gdańsk port.

Maritime tourism with a showcase of the city of Gdańsk

The wraps of cruise ships are not only impressive staff for lovers of the sea. Each such visit marks hundreds or thousands of passengers who will get to know Gdańsk within hours – from the Royal Route to the European Solidarity Centre.

In this year's season, two ships, Azamara Journey and Amadea, will stay in Gdańsk for the night. It is important because a longer stop increases the chance of a more peaceful tour of the city and a greater presence of tourists in local economy.

Where are the cruisers best viewed?

The best place to observe ships remains the Lighthouse area in New Port, at Ziółkowski wharf. It is there that it is easiest to feel the scale of these units and see how maritime tourism fits into the daily rhythm of the port and the city of Gdańsk.

The 2026 season in Port Gdańsk began calmly, but with a strong accent. A few months before the port and the city, which will remind you that the sea remains one of the most spectacular gates to Gdańsk.
