Fincantieri donated the new Norwegian Aqua cruiser for Norwegian Cruise Line

Leader of the cruise industry – Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) strengthens its fleet with a new cruiser Norwegian Aqua, prototype ship of the enlarged Prima Plus type. The new unit, built at Fincantieri shipyard in Margherha, is 10% bigger than its predecessors, offering a number of innovative solutions to its passengers, including the world's first hybrid roller coaster combined with a water slide.

At the ship's surrender ceremony, held yesterday on 13 March at Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, participated, among others, Biagio Mazzotta – Chairman of Fincantieri, Pierroberto Folgiero – Director General, and Luigi Matarazzo – Director General of Commercial Ships Division. Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd, and David J. Herrera, President of the Norwegian Cruise Line, were present from the shipowner.

New cruise ship Norwegian Aqua is another unit in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet and the first unit of the enlarged Prima Plus type. The unit with a gross tonnage of 156 300 GT and a length of 322 metres is 10% higher than the previous units of this type — Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Modern design and innovative technological solutions are designed to provide passengers with even higher comfort and unique experience on board.
