Gdańsk: Mostostal Pomorze with new warehouse on Ostrów Island

Mostostal Pomorze, a specialist contractor in the steel construction industry, rented over 1500 sq mi of warehouse and office space in the production hall in Ostrów Island, Gdańsk. The tenant was represented by Cres' advisory firm.
Mostostal Pomorze SA based in Gdańsk manufactures large steel and aluminium structures on the domestic and foreign markets. It implements projects mainly for offshore industry (mostly for the Scandinavian market), but also for shipbuilding, petrochemical-refinery, construction and infrastructure industries. It also manufactures lift and specialized constructions. The new facility of the company will cover 1230 sqm of assembly hall and 235 sqm of office and social space.
– We've recently signed a number of prestigious contracts. First for the expansion of the drilling platform and the construction of steel modules for refineries, then for the delivery of the underwater infrastructure section for offshore design. In connection with the last agreement under the project "Zorza Polarna" we need even more space for prefabrication – says Arkadiusz Aszyk, President of the Management Board of Mostostal Pomerania SA.

– Thanks to the modernization of the territory of Ostrów Island we want to create favourable conditions for investors who are looking for specialized solutions for their business. It is an attractive investment area, unique on a European scale. Located in the center of Gdańsk, well connected, close to the port. We want the island to become a center of marine, offshore or steel production. Thanks to investors such as Mostostal, who trusted us, we are approaching this goal – emphasizes Przemysław Sztander, president of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone.
The area revitalized by the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone includes production halls with a total area of 16.5 thousand sq mi, production and workshop buildings (11 thousand sq mi) and 4 thousand sq mi of warehouse space. The capacity of the cranes located there ranges from 16 to 50 tons. The modernization process of the PSEZ part of Ostrów Island was divided into stages.
– The customer was looking for an assembly hall equipped with a crane of the appropriate height and lift for operations related to the construction of large steel structures. The Ostrów Island hall, along with its nearby waterfront and infrastructure, will enable the transport of the construction by sea to the recipients, which will greatly improve the operations of Mostostal Pomorze SA, says Jakub Dudkiewicz, Advisor in the industrial and warehouse space department of Cresa Polska.
– We welcome the development of Polish companies in Pomerania. We recommended to the client a hall in the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone, because PSEZ is our strategic partner, who in its offer has halls with parameters not met elsewhere and thus meeting the specific requirements of our customers. In Cresa, we understand the needs of offshore companies and support them in their development, says Michał Rafałowicz, Director of the Pomeranian Region in the Department of industrial and warehouse space in Cresa Polska.
