cheetah will increase ship safety in Szczecin and Świnoujście ports

The trawl device installed on the m/s chepard will increase the safety of ships on the Świnoujście-Szczecin water track and in the port basins of both ports.

The equipment was purchased by Szczecin companies Infra-Port and Odra 3, which will mainly be used by the Board of Maritime Ports Szczecin and Świnoujście and the Maritime Office from Szczecin.

The device primarily serves to level the bottom and remove so-called floats, which are formed naturally and during the operation of screws and jet rudders, which significantly affects the safety of ship movements.

Mounted on the cheetah, the device is 26 metres long and 9 metres wide. It can work at a depth of up to 15,5 metres, which is of enormous importance in the context of dredging the water track to Szczecin up to a depth of 12.5 metres and handling the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. So far a similar device has been imported from the Tri-City.
