Ghost Shark XL-AUV – an unmanned submarine reaches the United States

Anduril Industries announced the delivery to the United States of a large-scale autonomous submarine Ghost Shark XL-AUV. This event is an important milestone in the development of the U.S.'s global autonomous capabilities, stressing the strategic importance of this technology for international defence cooperation.

Underwater possibilities in a new installment

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Ghost Shark XL-AUV, which belongs to the XLUUV (extra-large unmanned underwater vehicles) category, was designed and built in Australia, is a result of advanced research and development, conducted jointly by Anduril Industries and Australian armed forces. This vehicle, thanks to its modular the construction, is able to adapt to a wide range of underwater missions – from reconnaissance activities to operational support for submarines and submarines.

The transport of the vehicle to the United States was carried out using the C-17A Globemaster III of the Royal Australian Air Force, which reveals its exceptional transportation capabilities. Moreover, the arrival Ghost Shark coincides with the ongoing international RIMPAC exercises in the Pacific, during which the unit will be tested under real operational conditions.

Strategic importance in the new era of competition

In an era of intensified international competition in the seas, the development of technologies such as Ghost Shark is key to maintaining strategic deterrence. Autonomous underwater vehicles, thanks to their ability to operate at large depths and under difficult conditions, they become an indispensable element of modern war fleets. Ghost Shark is a response to these challenges, offering rapid implementation and operational flexibility, which allows effective response to threats.

It is worth noting that Ghost Shark is the result of an innovative Anduril Industries approach to design and production. The company, using its advanced technology based on artificial intelligence, was able to deliver a ready-to-use prototype in record short time, significantly shortening typical development cycles.

Investment in the future of the US Navy

Prototypic unit Ghost Shark for the United States, there is only a prelude for further action. In cooperation with Anduril Industries With the Royal Australian Navy it is assumed to build further units to support global maritime operations in the coming years.

What He Does Ghost Shark unique, not only is it its advanced technology, but also the speed at which it was placed on the market. Investment in research and development and the avoidance of delays characteristic of traditional defence projects allowed faster delivery of this innovative operational capacity.
