The griffin prepares for the difficult autumn and winter

"The boat earns money. As for Gryfia or the Gryfia docks, of course it is a season," said Radio Szczecin Paweł Brzezicki, President of the Company Development Fund. –

"I am a very moderate optimist when it comes to autumn and winter. At the moment, Gryfia earns money and I hope that they can save something for the leaner months," he added.

Brzezicki reported that the first results are due to the cooperation of the Marine Shiprepair Yard Gryfia with the largest Polish shipowner Polish Maritime Shipping.

"There has been a strengthening of the position of Gryfia as a result of association with PGM. It's like we did it. I think that cooperation between PMI and Gryfia not only at the level that we donate ships for repair in Gryfia, but also substantive assistance for purchases and contracts gives the first results. It is a pity that only now, not e.g. 20 years ago – said Brzezicki.

On dock number five, which is the largest dock of the Marine Renovation Shipyard Gryfia, is now undergoing renovation ferry Gryf belonging to Polish Maritime Shipping.

In mid-June, the Marine Shipyard Gryfia concluded with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and the Development Agency Industry long-term contracts implemented by the yard.

The funding is intended to allow the reconstruction of the Navy's warship ORP Lublin and the construction of two icebreakers. ORP Lublin is a transport-miner ship; icebreakers are to go to Gdańsk and swim on the Vistula.

Gryfia Marine Shiprepair Yard was created by the merger of two West Pomeranian plants which have been operating as one company since September 2013.

The yard has two production plants in Szczecin and Świnoujście. The beginning of the yard’s operations in Szczecin dates back to the early 1950s. No less rich experience has been established in Świnoujście, which has been active since 1968.

The yard offers services in the field of renovation, reconstruction and construction of new units. Performs emergency repairs and class inspections of ships. For over 15 years it has also been a manufacturer of offshore steel structures.
