Gryglas from MAP: We want the Polish contribution to offshore to be at least 40%

The government wants the Polish own contribution to the construction of wind farms in the Baltic to be at least 40-percent.

"We are very active and we want to start with 40 percent of our own share of wind farms in the Baltic. Today we have suppliers of cables, transformer stations and windmill towers themselves" - said Gryglas during the panel at the National Energy Summit in Gdańsk.

"By 2040 more than 1,000 wind turbines will be needed, so the location of the assembly plant or even the turbine production plant in Poland seems justified," added the Deputy Minister.

According to "Poland's energy policy by 2040", the installed capacity of wind farms at sea will be around 5.9 GW in 2030 and by about 11 GW in 2040.
