Gryglas from MAP: The installation port for offshore will be ready in 2024.

The installation port for the construction of offshore wind turbines in the Polish Baltic Sea should be ready in 2024, reported Deputy Minister of State Assets Zbigniew Gryglas.

"The work is going on, but we already have the final, hopefully, concept of both the location of this port and the infrastructure itself. One thing I can assure you that in 2024 this installation port in Poland will be ready" said Gryglas during the EuroPower conference debate.

In his opinion, the creation of a port is a necessary condition to obtain the participation of the national industry at a satisfactory level.

"For me on the preliminary level it is about 40-50%, and I believe that this share will be even higher," the Deputy Minister indicated.

Gryglas also believes that the range of orders of turbines for offshore wind turbines, which is expected to be around 1,000 turbines, justifies the construction in Poland of at least a assembly plant for these equipment.

"I am currently working on the idea of a large international tender for turbines for Polish projects, which would be carried out primarily by companies controlled by the Treasury – I am thinking about PKN Orlen and the PGE Group. I think the third large private developer will join this group," the Deputy Minister also said.
