Indian Coast Guard incorporated further OPV units into the line

On May 16, a new OPV and two high-speed coast patrols entered service in Goa. Thus, the fleet of ICG units reached 150 sea units in service.

Incarnate units belong to two types which are the primary ships of this formation. The first of the ships accepted for service is the OPV type Samarth Flight II construction of the local Goa Shipyard Limited. The ICG uses 6 units of the first series and waits for another 5 series of the second series. Interestingly, similar ships are being built at the same time. Vikram rival shipyard Larsen & Toubro.

ICGS Sachet (18) has a displacement of 2450 tonnes, length 105 m., width 13.6 m., dive 6,2 m., drive consisting of two diesel engines MTU 20V 8000 M71L with a power of 9100 kW each, a speed of 26 knots, a range of 6000 nautical miles at 12 knots, autonomy of 20 bottoms, crew of 121 people, armament: 1 cannon CRN 91 caliber 30 mm, 2 wkm 12.7 mm, onboard helicopter HAL Dhruv and 5 emergency boats. In addition, the ship is equipped with equipment to combat petroleum pollution.

Two high speed ICGS patrol boats C450 and ICGS C-451 belong to the type developed and built by Larsen & Toubro. The ICG will initially order 36 such units and then a further 18 patrolmen. Both incarnate boats are the last of the latter series and thus end the entire type. The construction of 54 units took L&T 10 years. In their course India handed over one such ship to Seychelles and two Mozambique.

L&T-type patrols have a displacement of 90 tonnes, length 30 m, width 6.4 m. dive 6,2 m., drive consisting of two diesel engines Caterpillar 3516C with a power of 2525 kW, each and MJP Waterjet structure propulsors, a speed of 45 knots, a range of 500 nautical miles, an autonomy of 3 days, a crew of 12 people, a armament of 1 wkm of 12.7 mm.
