Americans break their teeth in Iran. The Pentagon has a new problem.

The United States has been hitting Iran for months, but they have not managed to deprive Tehran of the possibility of retaliation. Iranian missiles continue to penetrate the defense of American bases and cause casualties.

On Friday, July 17, an Iranian missile hit Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan. Two American soldiers were killed and four wounded. The bullet hit part of the base used to accommodate U.S. personnel.

The Iranian missile has penetrated the defense of the base

American systems They intercepted most of the missiles fired towards Muwaffaq Salti. However, at least one managed to break through and reach its destination.

It wasn't the first attack on this base. On July 9, Iran launched ten ballistic missiles, eight of which were to be destroyed.

A single hit doesn't mean an American air defense collapse. However, it shows its limitations. Even an expanded system does not provide full protection, especially when the attacks are repeated and the opponent changes the used missiles and trajectory of their flight.

According to the Institute for the Study of War Iran uses increasingly faster missiles whose variable trajectory makes detection and interception difficult.

Iran doesn't have to cover the bases with missiles anymore.

At first glance, the pattern remains the same: Iran launches Bullets and drones, and American defense destroys most of them. However, not only the number of targets intercepted, but also where they will strike those that can break through.

The attack on Muwaffaq Salti showed it very clearly. Most of the missiles were destroyed, but one went to the location of American soldiers. That was enough to cause fatalities and more wounded.

According to U.S. sources, nearly 100 soldiers have been injured since the start of the fighting in early July. They were mostly light and were due, among other things, to the impact wave.

The Pentagon did not destroy Iranian missile troops

The United States hits Iran's launchers, warehouses, command stations, radars and air defense systems. However, this did not lead to the deprivation of Tehran’s ability to retaliate.

Iran can still damage targets hundreds of miles away. In recent days his missiles and drones have been targeted at military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait And Bahrain.

So Americans break their teeth on Iranian missile troops. They have an advantage in the air and may destroy further elements of the back room, but have not yet managed to stop all impacts or eliminate the threat to their bases.

Unconfirmed reports of aid from China and Russia

U.S. media reports that Iran may receive technical assistance from Russia and China or data used in planning attacks.

However, no evidence was publicly provided that Beijing or Moscow participated in the preparation of the Muwaffaq Salti base impact. The information on such support should therefore be considered as one of the scenarios under consideration rather than an established fact.

Trump threatens Iran with retaliation

On Monday, July 20, Donald Trump announced a retaliation for the deaths of American soldiers. In his entry on Truth Social, he stated that Iran would "pay multiple times" for each U.S. soldier killed. He added that proper instructions were given to the Pentagon leadership, but he did not explain what the American response was about.

A day later, Trump also threatened to hit Pickaxe Mountain, where, according to the American side, there may be an underground nuclear object. The mountain lies near a resort in Natanz. However, it is not known whether this announcement was directly related to the death of soldiers in Jordan. So far, there's no confirmation that this place is being attacked.

Trump's words came after one of the bloodiest weekends for American forces since the start of the war. Since the end of February, at least 17 U.S. soldiers have been killed and around 430 were injured. According to the Pentagon, as of 7 July, another 100 soldiers have suffered injuries, of which 96 percent have already returned to service.

Further losses increase the pressure on the administration and the Pentagon. The problem is not one bullet that penetrated the defense. After months of beatings, Iran can still hit American bases and cause losses.
