Jarosław Sergei Nowy President of the Board of Maritime Ports Szczecin and Świnoujście

Jarosław Sergei, an experienced leader in the maritime industry, was appointed President of the Management Board of the Maritime Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście S.A. for the 8th term, beginning on 1 March 2024. This decision underlines the company's desire to further develop and strengthen its position in the port market.
Supervisory Board Board of Maritime Ports Szczecin and Świnoujście S.A. (ZMPSiŚ) has declared the calling of the Lord Jarosław Sergei for the prestigious position of President of the Management Board, starting his term on 1 March 2024. This is a choice which aims not only to continue the development strategy of one of the leading port operators in Poland, but also to introduce new innovative solutions in maritime infrastructure management.
Jarosław Sergei, with extensive experience in the maritime industry, initially developed his competence as the 2nd navigation officer in Polish Baltic Shipping. His professional path evolved from a board member to the role of president in Board of Maritime Port Police, which shows his unique managerial abilities. As Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Board of Maritime Ports Szczecin and Świnoujście SA In 2008-2013, he proved his effectiveness in managing one of the key port hubs in Poland.
This period was important in his career, highlighting his ability to effectively conduct important initiatives in the sector. Re-appointed President Polish Baltic Shipping in 2014-2015 confirmed his reputation in the industry. Equally important is his political commitment, where, as the leader of the Szczecin Citizens' Platform structures, he showed broad interest and professional activity. Return Sergei as President ZMPSIŚ, where it has already been successful, announces the continuation of the dynamic development and strengthening of the company's position in the European arena, using its deep understanding of the specificities of the maritime sector.

The decision to appoint a new President was taken after the completion of the qualifying procedure, which, despite an intensive search, did not select candidates for the position of Vice-President for Economic and Financial Affairs and Vice-President for Infrastructure. The Supervisory Board decided to announce new competitions as soon as possible in order to supplement the board with competent specialists.
The Management Board of the Sea Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście, being a key player in the maritime transport market, sets ambitious goals related, among others, to the expansion of infrastructure and the increase of port capacity. The investment in the construction of the Deep Water Container Terminal in Świnoujście is a breakthrough step towards strengthening Poland's position on the maritime map of Europe. Appointment Jarosław Sergei for the position of President of the Management Board is a step to ensure the implementation of these assumptions, using his rich experience and strategic approach to management.
The key question is whether the new President will continue with his predecessor's policy, particularly as regards the further development and modernisation of ports. Knowing Sergei's achievements and experience so far, it can be expected that his term of office will be a period of intense efforts to further strengthen the position of ZMPSiŚ as the leader of innovation and efficiency in the port sector, which will contribute to economic growth not only in the region but also in the whole country.
