Innogy Company officially opened the British offshore farm Galloper

On September 28, German Innogy energy company officially announced the inauguration of the operation of the new Galloper offshore wind farm, which is located 30 km from the British coast, at the height of Suffolk.

The wind farm consists of 56 Siemens Games wind turbines. Each of them has a power of 6 MW, and Galloper's total productivity is 353 MW. The farm's construction cost £1.5 billion. Swire Blue Ocean was responsible for the construction of turbines, which was used by the Pacific Orca ship to install individual components of the structure. The installation of the first turbine began in May and engineering work was completed in December 2017.

The first current from the offshore wind farm Galloper undersea cable sailed last November, but all 56 wind turbines reached operational readiness in March 2018. Since then, recent work has continued with the introduction of a fama to regular industrial exploitation.

A land base to operate this wind farm remained to be built. It will be established in Harwich and will employ 60 people. Their task will be to maintain Galloper's efficiency for more than 20 years. The first works related to building the base will begin this year. The schedule will be ready by the end of 2019.

Hans Bünting of the board of Innogy, who is responsible for the renewable energy segment, stresses that Galloper is the fifth offshore wind farm the company built in the territorial waters of the United Kingdom.
