Markos manufacturer of lifeboats

The boats of special destiny are formed in Markos. The rescue boat RR 4.2 produced in Głobin is spotted by representatives of German Fassmer, one of the largest shipyards producing rescue equipment.

MARKOS' relationship with the construction of rescue and rescue boats is very strong. The RR 4.2 model was one of the first products that was created here fully – from the design, its certification to the final – a serially produced unit, produced to this day without major changes. It was this model, after previous design work and tests in the waters in the area of Darłówka, that liked representatives of the German launching equipment industry, who later decided to present it at the fair in Germany. There produced in Głobin RR 4.2 was spotted by representatives of the German Fassmer, one of the largest shipyards producing rescue equipment. Mass production has gone on for good.

Today MARKOS manufactures rescue and rescue boats with different specifications worldwide. In a wide range of products are models that differ in size or capacity. The smallest versions allow to accommodate 6 people on board, while the CLX version – up to 100.

– However, each has an identical destiny. In situations of danger to the health and life of passengers or crew, they are to allow escape from the danger zone as soon as possible – even during the most difficult conditions at sea. Hence, the equipment of individual units includes specially designed self-sprayers systems and even an installation providing the crew with access to oxygen for several minutes at the complete cut-off of the air supply from the outside – says Grzegorz Puścian, specialist in boat building at MARKOS.

The production of boats with such specific purpose requires the manufacturer to comply with very stringent standards – both in terms of the materials used, which must meet specific requirements and in the work on the assembly line. All Controlled is already at the construction stage based on technical documentation, and decisions to grant a certificate for use are issued by one of the world's classification societies – United States Coast Guard, Lloyd Register of Shipping, American Bureau of Shipping, Det Norske Veritas (DNV GL), Transport Canada. This is due to the verification of parameters and characteristics which must comply with the relevant provisions.

– Since the inauguration of production, the company has already left about 1.5 thousand copies of various types of rescue and rescue boats. During this time it was used in rescue operations around the world – admits Cezary Koseski, CEO of MARKOS. The loudest can be counted rescue action after DeepWaterHorizon drilling platform explosion in the Gulf of Mexico in 2000 and during the evacuation of passengers of the Costa Concordia ship in 2012. The scale is probably much bigger, because the boats produced in Głobin actually hit the waters of the world.
