The Navy wants to repair the ORP White ship, but the companies ignore the tender

Those willing to tender for the repair of the current ORP Bielik submarine may apply until 21 September. This is the third naval approach to this case this year. In the previous two tenders, the contractor could not be selected. In the first one willing to resign before signing the contract, in the second no one volunteered.
ORP Bielik belongs to rare specimens in the Baltic Sea – it is one of three submarines of the Polish Navy. Until recently, at least on paper, Polish Navy The RP had four such units, but in June the submarine of the type Kobben ORP Sokół was withdrawn from service and is about to start a new life as a tourist attraction in Gdynia.
ORP Bielik are also Kobben ships. Which may seem amazing, Polish Navy Bets on its continued operation, although it is only slightly younger than the Falcon. Although both ships entered service in the Norwegian Navy in 1967, ORP Sokół was launched in September 1966 and ORP Bielik in January 1967. Ships built the German shipyard Nordseewerke.
Polish Navy But apparently he believes in the possibility of a more than half-century ship and wants to renovate it. The War Port Command in Gdynia has just set up a tender to repair the current ship. This is the third tender procedure in this case, which was launched this year. In the previous two failed to select the contractor. This was cancelled from June because the only contractor who came forward for the tender withdrew at the last minute and "went to sign the contract". On the other hand, no non-rejective bid was submitted for the tender which the War Port Command in Gdynia issued in July. According to our information, there was not even such an offer that was rejected, i.e. no company just came forward for the tender.

The new tender may be submitted until 21 September. According to the documents, Polish Navy for repairing the current ship gives the contractor quite little time. The work is due to begin on October 15 of this year and end on February 9, next year. Perhaps that is the problem, and none of the maritime companies are able to recover in such a short time. The subject matter of the order itself is complex and includes a lot of elements.
The situation is different when it comes to minor repairs to Bielik. For example, in April, there was one company that was the only one to tender for the repair of a ship-wide converter. It is Elektro-Plus from Gdynia, which received almost PLN 22.5 thousand gross. In April she also earned money in Bieliku PGZ Stocznia Wojennawho made the cheapest offer and for repairing the periscope received PLN 280 thousand. Another agreement, also from April, concerned repair of the bilge-ballast system and cooling. Gdynia company Zruo earned 17 thousand PLN on this.

Apart from Bielik Polish Polish Navy has still an Orp Eagle submarine, which, however, after last year's fire was temporarily shut down from service and is currently waiting for repairs. It is a Soviet Kilo-type ship built in the Russian shipyard Krasnoje Sormowo. He began his service in the Polish navy in 1986. There is also an ORP Vulture, which is a second ship of type Kobben. The unit's career on the seas began in 1966. Like other Polish Kobbena, it was built by the German shipyard Nordseewerke for the Norwegian Navy.
