Minister Marek Grobarczyk on maritime cooperation with Estonia

On Saturday 25 May, the head of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and inland waterways visited the capital of Estonia. He met with the Youth Gift crew there, which surrounds the world as part of the Independence Cruise. During the visit, however, there were no shortages of economic accents: Minister Marek Grobarczyk met with Estonian Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Kadri Simson.

In Tallinn, Minister Marek Grobarczyk announced a revival of Polish-Estonian cooperation in the area of the Moscow economy. The head of the MGM announced, among others, the launch of the ferry connection to Tallinn.

"We started an extremely important stage of cooperation with the Estonian government, especially in the field of maritime management," said Gróbarczyk, quoted by the Polish Press Agency.

During his visit to Tallinn, the Minister also announced the signing of a letter of intent between the port in the capital of Estonia and the ports in Tricity. He stressed that business cooperation was involved. This includes a tourist exchange. According to Grobarczyk, such cooperation between Poland and the Baltic countries does not work.

– There is a line from Świnoujście to Klaipeda during the design. I think the next step will be the line from Gdańsk or Gdynia to Tallinn," said Grobarczyk. "We talked a lot about cooperation across the industry, we proposed that the 16+1 secretariat, the format of cooperation with China, take place here", added the head of the Ministry of Maritime Economy.

Grobarczyk emphasized that Voyage Independence (within about 10 months, the sailing ship will fly to 22 ports in 18 countries of the world) is "unless the best celebration of the year of independence and presentation of Poland abroad".

The next port to which the Youth Gift on the Independence Cruise route will be the capital of Denmark.
