These 22-meter high-speed aluminum catamarans, built by the Finnish shipyard Kewatec, are described as "mini hospitals on water". Their design minimizes noise, vibration and vertical movement, providing comfortable conditions for both patients and crew.

Lars Olaussen, COO Kewatec AluBoat Ab Oy(S.A.), emphasises that the hospital boat design Ambulance 2200 was developed for medical rescue purposes. "Safety and stability of patients are crucial, even in difficult weather conditions. Kamewa Waterjets provide the acceleration and agility necessary for rapid rescue operations. Their compact design allows precise maneuvering on tight and shallow waters, making them the perfect choice for our fleet," adds Olaussen.

Catamarans reach about 30 knots and are equipped with seating positions for 12 people and two full medical posts with stretchers. The crew of these units are specialists in the field of marine and paramedical rescue, which emphasizes how important and demanding their missions are. In 2022, Buksér og Berging introduced the first model of the unit Ambulance 2200 Volvo IPS. For two more units, Kamew's strugwater propulsors were selected. water jet), which increased their efficiency. Thanks to the use of strugal propulsors, which convert the stream of water to the driving force, these units achieve high speeds. The water is sucked into the rear part of the hull by the pump and thrown through the nozzle in the opposite direction to the intended motion, allowing smooth movement on the water.
