Finnlines will make changes on the routes
Finnlines at the end of January next year introduce a change on the route between Finland and Sweden. The operator announced that a larger ro-pax would appear on the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär line. It will be a Europalink ship that will replace the Finnfellow unit. This will allow to increase supply – the cargo area by 1200 m of load belt. The ship will also receive 100 more passengers. The new mission of the Europalink ferry will start early in January when it replaces the second vessel serving the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär connection, the Finnswan unit that will go to the dry dock for the planned review. Then both Europalink and Finnswan together will support the popular connection between Finland and Sweden. The Finnfellow ship will be moved to the Malmö–Travemünde line.
Ferry The future for Gotland
It is called Gotland Horizon and is to be the first ferry in Sweden of such a scale, using hydrogen propulsion. As planned, it will serve both for the transport of goods and cargoes. The unit will take on board 1,900 passengers, 600 passenger vehicles and 100 trucks. Emission-free ferry will run to 28 knots (approximately 52 km/h), and on routes leading towards Gotland it would appear around 2030. We4Sea will provide a solution to test the efficiency of the P&O Ferries fleet. It's the result of an agreement between the two sides. The module prepared by We4Sea will mainly examine ship parameters, which P&O Ferries operates under charter agreements. The main objective of the cooperation is to reduce fuel consumption and to reduce emissions. Both values will be provided in real time and compared with other indicators such as ship speed, wind speed, wave height and other weather conditions.
Regal Star for renovation
