New oil tanker commander ORP Baltic

On Monday, July 15, according to the Navy tradition and the sea ceremonial, during the ship's stay at sea, a ceremony was held to hand over command to the ORP Baltic Z-1 tanker. The new commander was Lt. Mar. Maciej Pawłowski.
Lt. Mar. Maciej Pawłowski took over duties from the former commander of Captain Mar. Sławomir Gronowski, who took a new position in the squadron of the Supporting Ships and also advanced to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
During a few hours of departure to the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk, they gave themselves command of the ship in the course of the crew's assembly on the stern of the ship. The ceremony was attended by the commander of the Squadron of the Supported Ships, kmdr Albert Figat, the godmother of the ship, Mrs. Janina Chruścik, former squadron and ship commanders and invited guests.
"Lieutenant, I present to you the pro-pork commander of the ship, a symbol of the power of the ship and its crew" – in these words the commander of the squadron of the Ship Supporting Commander Albert Figat, officially confirmed the command of the vessel to the new commander. This sign will be displayed on the tugboat mast during the entire period of command of the unit by Lieutenant Maciej Pawłowski.
In his speech, the outgoing Captain Mar. Sławomir Gronowski thanked the crew for their contribution to the tasks the superiors put on the unit for the period during which he commanded the tanker.
Mr Maciej Pawłowski, in charge of his duties, thanked the superiors for their trust in him and assured him that he would make every effort to ensure that his predecessors' work continued so well. He also stressed that the outgoing commander suspended the bar very high, but the excellent training and professionalism of the crew would certainly allow the ship to achieve its goals.
The ORP Baltic fuel tank is designed to supply ships with propellants and lubricants. Z-1 transports, stores, accepts and releases petroleum products to other units both in ports and at sea, as well as off-shore. The ship can also supply vessels in the sea with other products thanks to mobile cargo cranes.
The unit is equipped with all necessary connection systems, meeting NATO standards, allowing to refuel all ships cooperating with the Polish Navy.
