Loads on the Czech wharf started [FOTO, WIDEO]

At the Port of Szczecin on the Czech and Slovak coasts, the sinking of giant steel pipes began, which will strengthen the rebuilt waterfronts. Investment work "Improving access to the port in Szczecin in the Dębicki Canal area" is led by the Sopot NDI group. The contract for works with ZMPSiŚ was signed last October, the work will take three years.
The first steel pipes with a length of 21 meters and a section of fi 914 (0.914 m) have already been sunk on the Czech wharf. It will be on them that will be re-built quay. The total length of the rebuilt waterfront of Czech and Slovak is just over 1000 m.
– We are starting to sink pipes that will be used to place the wharf," says Piotr Arabczyk, contract director from NDI, general contractor. . The pipes are swamped with a vibrator. On this structure will be built new quaywhich will be used for the handling of goods. This is the first stage of the construction of the Czech wharf, in which there will be a 316, 5 metre wharf.
Eventually, pipes of 914 and 813 sections will be fitted as many as 9600 tonnes. Each is 18 to 21 meters long. Work on the Czech and Slovak coasts has been taking place since last autumn. Both waterfronts will be stripped and rebuilt. The Czech coast is currently being demolished with the ro-ro ramp. On the other side of the Dębicki Canal was also made a technological road, along with the component squares along the Norwegian and Danish wharfs.
In the near future, industry works will begin on the Czech wharf, as well as work preparing fields of laying off on the island of Ostrów Mileński.
– The field of layoff on the island of Ostrów Mieleński we will start building at the turn of April and May. It will be used to store the entire property, which will be drawn from the bottom of the Dębicki Canal by special pipelines, says Piotr Arabczyk, contract director from NDI, general contractor of works. "We would like to begin our work at the end of this year," adds Piotr Arabczyk
The contractor of the NDI, as part of this investment, will rebuild about 1000 metres of the Czech and Slovak quay, together with the modernization of the technical infrastructure in the direct hinterland and adapting them to the technical depth of 12.5 m. The contractor will also build more than 1080 metres of completely new Norwegian and Danish wharfs. The project will also extend the Dębicki Canal to a width of 200 m (now 120 m), by selecting earth masses throughout the west bank of Ostrow Grabowski and deepening the swimming pool to a technical depth of 12.5 m. The NDI also builds a bottom fortification from the so-called concrete mattress, which will protect the wharf from the movement of ship's screws. A deposit box will also be made, which will be used to store the land mined during the recyclable works, and will be about 1.5 million m3.
The project "Improving access to the port in Szczecin in the Dębicki Canal region" is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. The cost of the works is PLN 343.1 million. The investor of the project is ZMPSiŚ, the contractor of the Sopot company NDI, and supervision of the project is full of SWECO.
