Naval missile ships in exercises in the Gulf of Gdańsk

On Monday, May 16, the Navy exercises began. In the waters of the Gulf of Gdańsk, their skills are excellent for the crew of ORP Piorun and ORP Grom rocket ships, as well as corvettes to combat submarines ORP Kashub.
As reported by the Armed Forces General Command, these units carry out training shootings for water and air purposes. Missile ships perform fire tasks using artillery weapons. Sailors have excellent procedures for emergency situations that they can take place during operations at sea.
During exercise, the ORP Lightning crew performs simulated rocket attacks and artillery shooting with 76mm universal AK-176M cannon and fast-fired AK-630M cannon to combat water targets.
The task of the second rocket ship, ORP Grom, is to obstruct the performance of tasks of the ORP Lightning crew, among others, by performing fake attacks and avoiding counterattacks.
As General Command stated, the crew of ORP Kashub performs artillery shootings with three types of cannons: AK-176, ZU-23-2M and the universal 35-mm naval cannon Tryton.
The sailors also practice elements of the ship's anti-failure defense and the fight against asymmetric threats. The last part of the exercise is, among others, to protect against fast motor boats.
"This type of exercise is about the continuing ability of the Navy to lead maritime routes and to respond to emergencies at sea," says the General Command of Types of Armed Forces.
