UN: Security Council will handle North Korea missile test.

The Security Council will deal with the next North Korea missile test on Wednesday, at an extraordinary sitting behind closed doors, informed diplomatic sources at the UN.

The meeting was convened at the request of the United States and the United Kingdom with the support of France. Previously, North Korea announced that it had conducted a successful ballistic missile test that was launched from shipUnderwater.

In recent months, North Korea, after a long hiatus, has resumed missile trials. Pyongyang tested, among others, a long-range missile, a rocket fired from a railway platform, and a missile, portrayed as hypersonic.

UN Security Council resolutions prohibit North Korea from testing ballistic missiles which, depending on the design, may carry nuclear warheads.

Despite the international sanctions imposed by the Security Council, North Korea under the leadership of Kim Jong Una has significantly increased its military capabilities. Pyongyang conducted, among others, several nuclear tests and successfully tested ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States.
