PGE Baltica and DORACO will start building a service base for offshore wind farms in Ustka

PGE Baltica, a company belonging to the PGE Group, has concluded an agreement with the DORACO Construction Corporation concerning the implementation of the investment consisting in the construction of a modern operating and service base in Ustka. The facility will provide key technical facilities for the planned operation of offshore wind farms in the Baltic. Construction work was scheduled to start in the spring of 2025.

Signing a contract with the contractor is another milestone in the implementation of the strategyPGE Groupsto develop offshore wind energy. The port in Ustka is to serve as an operating centre for offshore installations such as Baltica 2 offshore wind farm. The investor is the Polish construction company DORACO, having extensive experience in hydrotechnical projects. Thanks to this project, the entire investment process in Ustka remains in the hands of national entities, which emphasizes the importance of using local content in the offshore sector.

Investment scope and infrastructure of the O&M base
The general task of the contractor will be to develop complete design documentation and to erect infrastructure in the western part of the port in Ustka.Investmentit also provides for all necessary authorisations and usage permits.

Operation and Service Base (O&M) PGE Baltica will be established in the area of more than 2.3 hectares, on the site of the former fish factory "Korab". The complex will consist of an administrative and social building, a warehouse, a manoeuvring area, and a waterfront where the high-speed CTV units (Crew Transfer Vessel) will moor.On baseIt also provides for parking and over 5500 m2 of green areas, which is part of the concept of sustainable development.
Work schedule and future role of the database in the mouth
PGE Baltica has already obtained a final construction permit. The works are planned to begin in the first half of this year, and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026. The first service unit from Ustka will beoffshore wind farmBaltica 2, co-implemented by PGE and Danish company Ørsted. This farm will be put into service for 2027.
In addition to the service function, the base will also support the construction of the farm. Technical and service teams supporting the installation process at sea will come from the port of Ustka.
