PGE initially had approximately PLN 5,229 million EBITDA in the first half of 2021.

The Polish Energy Group (PSE) recorded approximately PLN 5,229 million of consolidated EBITDA in the first half of 2021, according to preliminary data, the company reported. This is the highest score in group history.

"The consolidated operating profit plus depreciation and up-to-date write-downs (EBITDA) in the first half of 2021 amounted to approximately PLN 5,229 million, including:

EBITDA of the conventional energy sector: PLN 2,024 million,

EBITDA of the heating segment: PLN 715 million,

EBITDA segment Distribution: PLN 1 382 million,

EBITDA of the Turnover segment: PLN 706 million,

EBITDA of the renewable energy segment: PLN 382 million,

EBITDA of the Obieg segment Closed Economy: PLN 24 million" – reads the release.

"The excellent results achieved by PGE are the result of the involvement of the board and staff in maximising the group's potential. They are all the more reason for us to be satisfied because they were developed in difficult times on the energy market. We have big investments in renewable energy sources ahead of us, and we are focusing on the efficiency of our work with twofold force. We are aware that every zloty we earn today will contribute to the implementation of investments that change the image of Polish energy. It is a capital which we will devote to building the firm's sustainable value and the dynamic development of the Polish economy" - commented Wojciech Dąbrowski, quoted in the communication.

Investment outlays in the first half of the year amounted to PLN 2,247 million. The estimated net debt at 30 June 2021 amounted to approximately PLN 5,948 million.

‘According to preliminary estimates, the net electricity production in the first half of 2021 in PGE production units was 32.9 TWh, the volume of distribution was 18.6 TWh, and sales to final customers were 18.8 TWh. The volume of heat sales was 32.1 PJ" – also given.

The average wholesale energy price realised by the Conventional Energy Sector in the first half of 2021 was PLN 254.3/MWh.

"Currently, PGE is testing for the loss of assets, the result of which may have a potentially significant impact on the net result. In the light of the above, information on the estimated net result level will be made public with the test results" – we read further.

The publication of the consolidated PGE report for the first half of 2021 is scheduled for 28 September 2021.
