War Shipyard needs to increase employment as it implements a number of shipbuilding projects and is also preparing to acquire new contracts. Already on the company's premises are five shipbuilding projects. It is about completing production work related to the ORP Ślązak patrol vessel, as well as service and repair work on four naval units: Oliver Hazard Perry ORP rocket frigate General Kazimierz Pulaski, ORP Piast rescue ship, ORP Śniardwy tractor and ORP Lublin transport-min ship. In addition, work on the construction of a reconnaissance vessel for the Swedish Navy has already started on the site of the shipyard. PGZ Stocznia Wojenna is in this case a subcontractor of Nauta Shiprepair Yard.
Shipyard will employ 150 new employees
The implementation of so many industrial projects to a major challenge for the shipyards, which remained in liquidation a short time ago. And PGZ president Konrad Konefal of War Shipyard says that in the near future the company wants to acquire further contracts concerning the implementation of works for the Polish Navy. It is therefore necessary to quickly fill in the shortages of staff, the head of the shipyard stresses.
– PGZ Stocznia Wojenna it has a large industrial capacity which, after many years of bankruptcy, cannot be fully exploited today. And there's a lot of demand for that. In the next few months, we want to employ about 150 new workers with all the shipbuilding specialties. The shipyard also opens doors to young people and wants to involve them in the work for the security of Poland – says Konrad Konefał, Chairman of the Board. PGZ War Shipyard.
The company already needs new welders, fitters, electromonters, electricians, pipers, painters, electronics, automatics. Vacancies are also for technologists and designers. The Shipyard wants to increase the participation of employees of the Technology and Design Office in the structure of employment in order to meet the requirements of the Company by the contractors, as well as systematically increase the know-how of the Shipyard.

The President of the Management Board of PGZ War Shipyard emphasizes that the Company negotiates further contracts. This means that future employees can offer not only satisfactory remuneration at market level but also stable and certain employment for at least a few years to come. The yard offers employment on the basis of a contract of employment or cooperation on its own business basis, depending on the individual preferences of employees.
War Shipyard employs and invests
In June this year, in an interview with the Shipyard Portal, the head of the War Shipyard said that 500 people are currently working in the company, and ultimately this number is expected to increase to 650 employees. The President then stressed that the company offers employment in a stable and unindebted company, which regulates all liabilities on an ongoing basis and has a stable financial situation. "Our recruitment action will also result in higher salaries for employees employed so far," stressed the President of the War Shipyard.
W wywiadzie dla Portalu Stoczniowego prezes Konrad Konefał mówił też o programie inwestycji w infrastrukturę przemysłową stoczni. Jak podkreślał, firma zamówiła nowe półautomaty spawalnicze oraz urządzenia transportowe. Ponadto spółka remontuje urządzenia dźwignicowe i już uruchomiła modernizację żurawi stoczniowych. Remont przechodzą też pomieszczenia robocze: biurowe, socjalne i warsztatowe.
Spółka planuje sprzedaż części terenów, które obecnie znajdują się w jej zasobach, a pozyskane pieniądze Stocznia Wojenna chce przeznaczyć np. na postawienie nowych hal warsztatowych czy zakup urządzeń do budowy kadłubów i automatów spawalniczych. „Chodzi o to, żeby zwiększyć moce produkcyjne stocznie, poprawić efektywność i zwiększyć możliwości operacyjne. Jeśli to się uda, a bardzo w to wierzę, możemy w krótkim czasie stać się liczącą się stocznią wojenną w rejonie Bałtyku”, podkreślał prezes stoczni w rozmowie z Portalem Stoczniowym.
