Polenergia best 2018 company from the sWIG80 index

Polenergia S.A. awarded the statue of "Byki and Bears" for the best company from the SWIG80 index in 2018. The awards ceremony of the "Parkiet" newspaper was held on 21 March 2019 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

For the 25th time the editorial board of the Stock Exchange and Investors "Parkiet" awarded the best listed companies and capital market institutions with prestigious awards "Byki and Bears". Polenergia proved to be a winner in the category of companies forming the sWIG80 index. In 2018 the shares of Polenergia jumped by 69 percent, and this was the highest increase in the sWIG80 index, while the WIG-energy index shrank by 19 percent in 2018. The group has significantly improved financial performance in the past year, which is reflected in its quotations on the Warsaw dance floor.
"The award awarded since the quarter of a century of the editorial board of the Stock Exchange and Investors "Parket" is a distinction which has already its unique and prestigious character. This is an award for the leaders of the Polish capital market, which we consider as a commitment to the future. This prestigious statue of the best of the best confirms that it was worth going against the current, investing in renewable energy sources, putting a lot of effort into the development of Polenergia and building the energy future of Poland based on RES," said Michał Michalski President of the Board of Polenergia, thanking for the award "Byki and Bears".

Journalists of the Park stressed in the justification of their decision that Polenergia completed in 2018 many activities initiated in previous years, such as debt restructuring of most wind farms, optimizing operating costs and acquiring Equinor as a partner in developing wind farm projects in the Baltic Sea. Thanks to the optimization and efficiency improvements, Polenergia has clearly improved its financial performance, and its stock exchange listings have gained considerable value. In 2018 the Group's revenues increased by 25% compared to 2017 and reached PLN 3.45 billion. In turn the net profit without one-off events amounted to PLN 34.7 million and was 73 percent higher than
cleared score in 2017.
