Gdańsk University of Technology together with PGE Baltica will educate staff for Polish offshore

PGE Baltica became a strategic partner of the 6th edition of postgraduate studies of Marine Wind Energy conducted at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding at Gdańsk University of Technology.

Cooperation agreement for the implementation of studies was signed in early December 2022 Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding, Professor Andrzej Seweryn, PhD, and President of the Management Board of PGE Baltica Dariusz Lociński. Earlier, in September 2022, the company and college signed a letter of intent on this matter.

Cooperation with PGE Baltica in such a rapidly developing area is extremely important. The launch of another edition of studies in this field is directly related to the intensive development of the offshore wind energy market in Poland expected in the coming years. The Polish Energy Policy project provides for the implementation of offshore wind farms with a total capacity of more than 10 GW, making Poland a potential industry leader in Europe.

In addition to postgraduate studies and research and development projects, Gdańsk University of Technology cooperates with PGE Baltica also in the implementation of specializations in the design and construction of offshore energy systems at master's degree in ocean engineering.

We enter another year of cooperation with one of the best technical universities in the country. Thus, we strengthen the ecosystem of cooperation between science and the developing offshore wind energy sector in Poland. Taking advantage of the potential of the native scientific thought, and at the same time the teaching resources of Polish universities, will allow us to carry out innovative R & D projects and educate specialised staff. Together we are building Polish offshore.

Dariusz Lociński, President of the Management Board of PGE Baltica

Listeners of two-series postgraduate studies of Marine Wind Energy have the opportunity to gain or deepen knowledge about offshore wind energy as the world's fastest-growing renewable energy technology. The programme allows to gain professional knowledge about technologies used in the sector, as well as about the functioning of offshore wind energy markets and all aspects of the preparation and implementation of offshore wind farms projects in the Polish Exclusive Economic Zone of the Baltic Sea. The Polish Wind Energy Association is also a partner in the postgraduate studies of Marine Wind Energy.
