Polish Armed Forces Group strengthens cooperation with Gdańsk University of Technology

PGZ S.A. and PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Sp. z o. o. have concluded confidentiality agreements with the Centre of Maritime Military Technologies of Gdańsk University of Technology, which will enable the beginning of talks on the development of technologies for minimising the physical fields of ships and unmanned submarines for the Polish Navy.

Signing confidentiality agreements was necessary, so that the parties can start cooperation talks in the implementation of projects for the Polish Navy. Details remain the secret of the parties.– The Polish Armed Forces Group wants to participate as far as possible in programs for the Polish Navy. PGZ Stocznia Wojenna has all the necessary competence to participate in programmes for MW.

I am convinced that cooperation between the national industry and the Gdańsk University of Technology, which has many years of experience in demagnetisation of ships and measurement of their physical fields, as well as unmanned underwater technologies, will have an excellent effect in the form of world-class equipment for our Navy.

Sebastian Chłałek, Chairman of the Management Board of PGZ S.A.

  • Gdańsk University of Technology is very interested in actively supporting the development of Polish defence industry. For many years we have been cooperating with the Polish Navy and the Polish Armed Forces Group. The agreement we have signed now confirms that our partnership is close and increasingly effective. I am convinced that the conclusion of this agreement will serve both the efficient implementation of MW programmes, as well as the further development of competences of our specialists from the Marine Military Technology Centre PG," said Prof. Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology.
  • PGZ Stocznia Wojenna began implementing an ambitious programme to transform its infrastructure and work organisation. They will allow even the most technologically advanced projects. It is another program, after the Swordfish, which, although at a very early stage, brings with it great development potential for the shipyard. I believe that in the span of several years demagnetization stations and other innovative underwater technologies will become important elements of our offer, and not only for the Polish Navy," said Paweł Lulewicz, president of PGZ SW sp. z o. o.

Currently, the Group is implementing a number of projects in the field of construction, repair, servicing and repair of ships. In July 2021, a contract was signed for the delivery of three vessels of a new type for MW RP under the program Miecznik.
