Polish LNG summarizes 2018 – a breakthrough time in the company's business [INFOGRAPHY]

The previous year was a period of increased work for Polish LNG. The result is great results of the LNG terminal im. President Lech Kaczyński in Świnoujście and implementation, according to the schedule, of the LNG Terminal Development Program. As part of the latter, at the turn of 2018/19, the company started two tender processes, for the so-called land part (dthe regasification system, the third LNG tank and the rail handling facility of LNG and the maritime part (additional quay ship).

In 2018, in the Świnouskie LNG Terminal, tasks were successfully carried out in the process. Results achieved:
In the article
- Nearly 2 million tonnes or 4.4 million m3 of natural gas were unloaded at the terminal.
- 23 vessels (14 in 2017) with liquefied natural gas were adopted and unloaded.
- 1794 auto tanker (1523 in 2017) left Świnoujście. Polish LNG also set its internal load record on one day in 2018 – there were 24 of them.
- Last year the first ISO-container liquefied gas loading terminal was also carried out, an increasingly popular, standardised form of LNG transport.
Implementation of development plans
At the turn of 2018 and 2019 Polish LNG took a very important step in implementing the LNG Terminal Development Programme – two tendering processes were launched.

The first of the published notices (for the so-called land-based part) began a tender procedure in which the contractor of the three terrestrial elements of the extension of the LNG terminal will be selected:
- Additional regasification installations – increasing the nominal regasification capacity of the terminal to 7.5 billion Nm3Every year.
- The third LNG tank – increasing the flexibility of the LNG terminal installation and providing optimal process capacity for storage of raw material.
- LNG handling facilities for railways – extending the range of services provided by the possibility of loading ISO containers and railway tanks and allowing to reach new potential customers.
The second tender process concerns the so-called maritime part (fourth element of the LNG Terminal Development Programme). Within this framework, it is to be established:
- Additional quay ships that will allow forCargo CommonCargo tankers,Cargo LNG (transshipment) and zaCargo LNG bunkering units and bunkering service.
New quay, implemented jointly with the Board of Maritime Ports of Szczecin and Świnoujście, is part of the development of the so-called Small LNG infrastructure (SSLNG – Small Scale LNG). It will provide additional functionality to the Świnouian terminal. Thanks to it, Polish LNG will respond to the growing market demand in the Baltic Sea Region. This will also respond to a number of European regulations, in particular climate and environmental legislation, which force a transition towards low-carbon fuels.
– The passing year was intense for us, but giving reasons for satisfaction. We are very well prepared for the coming time," said Paweł Jakubowski, President of Polish LNG.
Good climate for LNG
In the past year, the company has also implemented a number of development activities, including:

- Accession to Baltic Ports Organisation (BPO)
- Presentation of LNG terminal as part of a roadshow in the USA, Norway, Australia and France
- Co-organization with government party visit of US Department of Energy Secretary Rick Perry to Poland
- Establish cooperation and sign a letter of intent with the University of Western Australia
- Cooperation agreement with the Fire Service Main School including joint research and teaching projects and access to specialised equipment
