The port of Gdańsk offers 780 parking spaces for trucks

The port of Gdańsk completed the construction of 780 parking spaces for trucks to meet the increased movement related to grain exports.
W The Gdańsk port already has 780 parking spaces dedicated to heavy goods vehicles in port areas. Port Gdańsk has successfully completed the construction of new parking places for trucks. As of 5 June, drivers will have access to parking lots located on Załodowa Street and the Construction of North Port – Poinca. This is a total of 380 additional outlays. But it is not the end – we are currently working on further solutions.
In response to intensive grain export, Port Gdańsk is fully prepared for increased truck traffic. As much as 70% of grain transport to the port is expected to take place using trucks. Port operators are able to handle as many as 730 vehicles each day. In order to avoid congestion on the roads, ZMPG continues to build new parking spaces.
Around 80 parking places in an area of about 1 hectare have already been created at the Northern Port Building Street – Poinca. On Załodej Street (the former Kruszwica plant area) a parking lot of 300 cars was built in an area of 4 hectares. An additional 80 benches on the plot after former Kruszwica plants will be commissioned to drivers in mid-June.

In addition, Port Gdańsk began preparations to build a new car park at the intersection of Kontenerowa Street and Nowa Portowa Street with an area of about 2.5 hectares, which will be able to accommodate about 190 trucks. The planned date of putting this parking lot into service is mid-July. Then the port will have 970 parking spaces.
Cereals intended for export shall be tested using special cereal sampling equipment, known as carboraphs. The grain quality tests are carried out on three car parks located within the borders of the Port of Gdańsk. The racorafs are available at Northern Port Building Street, the estuary and in the parking lot at Sněžna/Trade Street. Soon, ZMPG intends to mount rakorafa roofs so that grain research can also take place during the rain.
