Port Szczecin increases waterfront efficiency in Dębicki Canal

Increase the efficiency of existing waterfronts, build new and improve the quality of cargo handling in port Szczecin is the aim of the investment "Improvement of access to the port in Szczecin in the area of the Dębicki Canal".
Work goes full steam.
Modernization of the Czech waterfront is underway, where part of the metal stakes strengthening this quay. In the end, as many as 9600 tons of pipes of sections 914 and 813 will be installed. Each is 18 to 21 meters long. Work is also underway on the other side of the Channel. The construction of the new Norwegian wharf began here, the sinking of the seal wall and the construction of the CFA stake.
Port will double the amount of cargo handled
Thanks to the investment, the port of Szczecin will accept ships with a load of up to 50,000 tonnes on board, doubling the amount of cargo currently operated. This will increase port competitiveness on the market. Above all, however, due to the widening and deepening of the Dębicki Canal, the safety of ships in this port area will significantly improve.

As part of the investment, nearly 1000 metres of the Czech and Slovak quay will be rebuilt, together with the modernization of the technical infrastructure in the immediate hinterland and adaptation to the technical depth of 12.5 m.
On the island of Ostrów Grabowski the contractor will also build more than 1080 metres of completely new Norwegian and Danish quays. The Dębicki Canal project will be expanded to 200 m (now 120 m) and deepened to 12.5 m. In turn, the so-called concrete mattress reinforced the bottom of the Canal in the area of the Co-operative, Finnish and Czech coasts and will protect them from the movement of ship screws. On the island of Ostrów Mieleński will be made a field of lay-off. It will be there and on the fields of laying off on Ostrów Grabowski rebuilt under another contract. It will be approx. 1.5 million m3 for development.
The project "Improving access to the port in Szczecin in the Dębicki Canal region" is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment. The cost of the works is PLN 343.1 million. The investor of the project is the Management Board of the Sea Ports Szczecin and Świnoujście SA, the contractor of the Sopot NDI company, and supervision of the project is full of SWECO.

Total length of sealed walls – 40 km.
Total length of steel pipes – 20 km.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NORWAY AND DUNISHED WORK
The total tonnage of the walls for the Norwegian and Danish nabs is 3800 t, the whole range was delivered for construction in 2 months.
So far, 280 m from the design 300 m sink.
Almost 280 CFA pallets with 360 design pieces were made.
It was delivered to the construction of 3400 mb feeds along with buns.
IMPLEMENTATION OF WORKS AT THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND SLOVAK
All demolition works for Stage I were performed.
4300 m from 16,000 m of ground anchors on the Czech and Slovak nabs.
146 / 801 pieces were killed and concreted.
Diving work has shown over 1,600 pieces of ammunition at the bottom of the pool.
IMPLEMENTATION OF WORKS ON MELENIAN ISLANDS
The 2100 / 4800 mb working platform on the island was realized.
The supply of 0.5 million m2 geosynthetics to the island is ongoing.
50 hectares of forest have been grubbed up in accordance with the decision of the WDC.
Pontoon Bridge – via Dune
Currently there are 100 of the designed 120 parts of the PP-64 Pontoon Park.
Trivia
The amount of land mined from the bottom of the Canal would fill the newly built Pogoni Stadium four times or National Stadium one and a half times.
Armoured (scored rods and straight), the amount of reinforcement tons (1,600 tonnes) equals the weight of 73 Rosomak armoured transporters.
Beton konstrukcyjny, projektowana ilość m3 betonu pozwoliła by na zabudowanie Jasnych Błoni warstwą o grubości 0,30 m betonu.

Postęp rzeczowy: 23 %.
Trwa realizacja I etapu robót obejmująca: Nabrzeże Czeskie I etap ok 316 m, Nabrzeże Norweskie, Budowę pola odkładu na Ostrowie Mieleńskim.
Postęp finansowy projektu: 10 %.
