Fire on the Almirante Massacre near Geteborg

In the Kattegat Strait near Goeteborg, a masseuse burns Almirante, on board with 17 sailors. Firefighting action is underway, evacuation is planned – the Swedish Maritime Administration rescue centre announced on Saturday.

The fire broke out after 14 p.m. on the flag of Liberia, the Almirante massage on board which the wood is located. Initially, the crew tried to extinguish the fire on their own, but with no effect.

Smoke beds are visible from surrounding islands. In the firefighting action they participate vessels and helicopters from Sweden, Denmark and near the Portuguese Navy frigate.

According to Anders Laennholm, "it is one of the biggest events of this type for a long time." "The fire is not under control. The captain hasn't agreed to evacuate yet. We've been informedthat none of the crew is injured," Laennholm said.

According to the lifeguard chief, the fire must not be extinguished by large amounts of water as this could cause the ship to sink.
